A Training Syllabus is available for each of these classes upon request
Different levels of OmniCADD SDS classes are now made available.
The appropriate class to attend will depend on the students experience in
the sprinkler industry and how well acquainted they are with computers. All
of the computer software classes offered require that the attendee has a minimum
amount of design experience in the sprinkler industry. If not, the AutoCAD
and Automatic Sprinkler Design training courses
are recommended.
| Beginner |
This class is introducing the student to the basic functions of the computer as well as the OmniCADD SDS software program. The class will be taught on a Windows based computer, and will incorporate all of the latest strategies used by the OmniCADD SDS program on a PC platform. The student will be taught how to operate the OmniCADD SDS program, and the Windows operating system, starting from turning the computer on and installing the OmniCADD software, through drawing, calculating and stocklisting a combination grid-tree system. The student will be required to attend a 4 day, eight hours per day course. |
| Intermediate |
This course is the one most commonly attended, and is meant for a person who is already familiar with computer basics and has a basic sprinkler design knowledge. It consists of learning all of the functions and commands of the SDS program through the application of the program on actual jobs supplied by the student. In this manor the students can learn and apply themselves to a real life situation prior to returning to the office. All of the Drawing, Hydraulics and Stocklisting commands are taught and used during this course. The student will be required to attend a 3 day, eight hours per day course. |
| Advanced |
This class is meant for the student who has learned and applied the basics of the OmniCADD SDS program and is now interested in learning some of the not so obvious applications needed for unusual situations. The student will be required to attend a 2 day, eight hours per day course. |

|
This course is offered to the person who requires comprehensive knowledge of AutoCAD basics. Most sprinkler design programs are based on the usage of AutoCAD, therefore requiring a minimal knowledge of the program. This course will go beyond a minimal understanding and teaches the student how to operate AutoCAD as a stand-alone program. The student will be introduced to most of the basic functions of AutoCAD and have a working knowledge of the program at the completion of the course. Some of the topics covered are:
The student will be required to attend a 4 day, eight hours per day course. |
| OmniCADD Hydraulic Calculation Software |
This class is normally included in the OmniCADD SDS training schedule, and is specifically tailored to the hydraulic portion of the OmniCADD SDS program. The class is made available for companies that don’t necessarily require all of the other programs included in the OmniCADD software package. During the presentation of this class, the student will be introduced to all of the basic methods of operation and functions of the OmniCADD HCS program. This class teaches the student how to use the OmniCADD HCS as a stand alone program, without incorporating the data automatically inserted from the drawing package.
This course can be custom tailored for insurance companies that need to evaluate and convert existing systems for different occupancy requirements. All of the different system type scenarios will be addressed, including systems with pumps, tanks, pre-action and special hazards applications. The student will be required to attend a 1 day, eight hour course. |
|
Hydraulic Calculation |
This course introduces the student to hydraulic calculations at the beginning level. From primary calculation considerations, through hand calculations of a tree system. There will be in-depth explanations of formulas, system types, flow charts and other necessary basics of a required hydraulic calculation. The student will be required to attend a 2 day, eight hours per day course. |
| Design Basics |
This course introduces the student to the basics of Automatic Sprinkler Design as a prerequisite course to the OmniCADD SDS program. This class will teach the student most of the required design basics related to fire protection sprinkler systems. Including, but not limited to:
The student will be required to attend a 5 day, eight hours per day course. |
